the wildness tonic sessions

We need the tonic of wildness...at the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.

What is a Wildness Tonic Session?

A Wildness Tonic Session is a photography session created out of my lifelong belief that when humans are at one with nature they can be at one with themselves. Nature is our friend and our spirit guide, not something we must own, have dominion over or seek to exploit. It's a place for solace, for healing and somewhere we can go to re-connect with our wild ancestors. The long grass is our church, and we should frequently worship at it's altar.

In it's simplest form, a Wildness Tonic Session is an antidote to daily life, an attempt to re-wild, take a long tall drink of nature and get the hell outside. You don't have to go very far to find wildness, an opportunity to learn from nature, open our eyes and be receptive to what it has to teach us.

Who are they for?

The Wildness Tonic sessions are all about planning an adventure and setting yourself free. They’re perfect for families and portrait sessions, anyone with a desire to be free from the constraints of daily life, from anything that’s worrying you or weighing you down. You don't need to have a purpose for the images, just a desire to go outside, kick off your shoes, have an adventure and let yourself be healed in nature. Think barefoot hikes, wild swimming and blackberry picking. Muddy faces, windswept hair, free spirits and happy hearts.

WHERE DO THEY TAKE PLACE?

I have a list of locations that I love to shoot at in London, Hertfordshire and beyond. The wilder the space the better. No manicured gardens or well-kept parks, instead think wildflower meadows, heathland, long grass, rivers, mountains and the hills. Wherever you live, I'm sure we can find a wild space that means something to you. If not, then I would love to help you look.

HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?

You can either book a full two-hour session for £350, a mini session for £150 or an extended adventure session for £550. Each package includes a number of digital files, with options to upgrade or order prints and albums. Full details on my pricing and packages here.
